Site-Context-Place

i decided to do some research on the mac building, i found 4 ref videos. To be honest it was quite frustrating trying to find the clips in between taped ads, gardening programs and so on FWD. Realistically there was about 5 mins on 2 different tapes that were worth watching. Number 469 and 51. Considering i've watched them, i'll save you the bother. Points of interest:
  • All studios face north-light
  • Each visit to building a new perspective gained
  • No. of people passing through touching things; leaving traces; doors, floor, chairs worn
  • architect has manipulated how you walk through the building
  • light fittings reminiscent of other parts of the building and visa versa
  • many vantage points of Glasgow city from windows
  • juggles with form
  • central staircase is the "buildings lifeblood"
  • library unique space

i think there are many possibilities here worth exploring!

also if anyones interested and hasn't been on an official guided tour, fancy going on one, let me know?
